About Project

The creation of a homey, yet fun environment for children aged 0-5 years, to enhance their learning experience and encourage development through multi-sensory spatial interactions. The project comprises both interior renovation and new extension works for LHIS. Our guiding concept for organising the site was to enhance the perception of the school as home to the children.The concept statement holds extra emphasis, with the main residence at the ‘heart centre’ of the site and in co-existence with the school block. We envisaged the school’s development as a ‘wrap-round’ the main residence, with kids stepping into ‘new worlds’ with each separate section of development. Through this layout, various levels of relationships are established and created from the ‘wrap’ to the ‘centre’. The scheme was grouped into four parts, each encompassing separate phases of work, in order to fit construction into ongoing school activity. Green Design Features include local material selection.
